Contestants in the National Rifle & Pistol Championship plan to bring heat with them to the competition, and for a while it looked like the sun was planning on doing the same thing. Temperatures in Camp Perry have been up in the 100s, leaving event organizers to sweat over the weather forecast. Luckily, the weather has cooled down significantly, and visitors to the shooting competition can expect numbers close to the 80s.
These shots of Camp Perry offer a rare glimpse of area, long before droves of gun enthusiasts crowd into the stadiums to witness some ace shooting. Enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts, because these campgrounds will be filled with gun fans for the next several weeks.
