Flare guns and parachutes do not mix (VIDEO)

Exhibition parachutist Brianne Thompson decides to kill a perfectly good parachute with fire– while she is still attached to it.

Of course Thompson, who is an instructor with the AXIS Fight School in Eloy, Arizona, ditched the main chute (or its smoking ruins) and deployed her reserve pretty fast, all while maintaining control of her now-empty flare gun.

Felt like a Red Bull commercial there for a second, but we have to minus her a few points as the canopy that went up in smoke looks a lot like ole’ glory.

In other news, who knew they made parachutes out of compressed gasoline and flash paper?
