Man wounded by errant round fired by dancing FBI agent (VIDEOS)

A backflip by an off-duty federal agent in a popular Denver nightclub ultimately left one man wounded and the FBI investigating what they term a personnel matter.

The incident occurred at Mile High Spirits in Denver’s LoDo downtown area around 12:35 a.m. Saturday when a man in what was described by witnesses as a breakdance circle performed a backflip that left a handgun on the floor. In a video from the scene supplied to Denver 7, the unidentified dancer recovers from his move and reaches for the pistol on the floor, apparently firing the gun in the process. He then stands, inserts the handgun inside his waistband in the area of the small of his back, and walks into the crowd waving his hands.

CBS Denver reported a patron was shot in the leg and transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The FBI said the investigation is “active, ongoing and a personnel matter,” while the Denver District Attorney’s office is expected to decide if charges would be filed, according to the Denver Post.
